Seri­ous health and envi­ron­men­tal risks are being con­sid­ered in this report rang­ing from the increas­ing use of insec­ti­cides, and con­se­quently an increase in poi­son­ing with organophos­phate pes­ti­cides (which form the major por­tion of pes­ti­cides used in agri­cul­ture and pub­lic health), as well as the increas­ing prob­lem of resis­tance in vec­tors and pests.
