Macrofilaricidal(worm Killing ability) Activity of Cedrus Deodara, Perfumers Cedarwood

The wood extract of Cedrus deo­dara (Per­fumers cedar­wood, chem­i­cally related to J. vir­gini­anus) exhib­ited 47.97 and 86.56% inhi­bi­tion in for­mazan for­ma­tion at 1 mg/ml at an expo­sure period of 1 and 4 h, respec­tively. At higher con­cen­tra­tions and larger expo­sure peri­ods, Cedrus deo­dara showed a sig­nif­i­cant macro­fi­la­r­i­ci­dal activ­ity when tested on adult Setaria dig­i­tata, the cat­tle filar­ial worm.
