Juniperus Polycapos Essential Wood Oil Kills Eggs and Larvae Better than Fenamiphos

Extracts of J. poly­ca­pos were found to be as nemati­ci­dal and nemaci­dal activ­ity increase as con­cen­tra­tions of extract increased. The nemaci­dal results were com­pared with the onven­tional nemacide, fenamiphos against the Meloidog­yne javan­ica (true B_ Chit, in vitr) nematode.

Although, fenamiphos had greater abil­ity to kill nema­todes J. poly­ca­pos had a bet­ter abil­ity to pre­vent eggs from hatch­ing. J poly­ca­pos may have only reduced num­bers of adults but killed more of the next gen­er­a­tion of nematode.

Junipe­rus Sabine leaf oils were sub­jected to screen­ing against P-388 murine leukemia, A-549 human lung car­ci­noma, and HT-29 colon car­ci­noma, while the antivi­ral assays were per­formed on her­pes sim­plex virus type 1 infect­ing fibrob­lasts of mon­key kid­ney (HSV-1/CV-1.
