Monsanto comes clean to the EPA. Between 2002 and 2007 Monsanto distributed or sold cotton seed products more than 1,700 times nationwide.
The effects of genetically engineered crops are unknown to insects, plants and the environment and we may never be able to link the damages to those crops. In September 2008, EPA lifted the planting restriction in the 10 Texas counties for Bollgard II, after Monsanto applied for a change in the registration of that product.
After all shouldn’t Monsanto be rewarded for damaging the environment with contracts?
Monsanto Company Inc., of St. Louis, Missouri, has agreed to pay a $2.5 million penalty to resolve misbranding violations related to the sale and distribution of cotton seed products. In consideration of the profits from the now in use cotton seed that gives the company the right to sue nearby farmers for “seed copyright infringement” it is a paltry amount. Article
